New plans have been submitted to Gwynedd Council for the development of 77 apartments in 4 buildings, at the former Jewson Ltd Penlon Works in Bangor.
The site, at the lower end of the High Street, would also include the construction of a new vehicular access with the provision of internal roads and car parking areas and associated facilities.
Previous planning applications for the site, from Hughes Brothers Limited of Llangefni, for 161 student flats were rejected in 2011, after strong opposition from Bangor City Council and residents who staged protests and sent letters and emails of objection, the number of units was later reduced to 109 but this was rejected again in 2013, despite an appeal from the developers to the Welsh Assembly government.
