The café at Storiel Museum and Art Gallery in Bangor is set to reopen under new management, with the team behind the Moel Siabod Café confirmed as the new operators of the museum’s café space.
The appointment follows a recent tender process led by Cyngor Gwynedd, which sought a new tenant to take on the café as part of wider plans to enhance the visitor experience at Storiel and support the regeneration of Bangor city centre. The opportunity attracted strong interest, with bidders required to demonstrate quality, sustainability and a clear vision for the role the café could play within the cultural venue.
The successful operators currently run Moel Siabod Café / Caffi Siabod – Snowdonia, a well-established and popular business based at the Fisheries in Pentrefelin. Known for its welcoming atmosphere, homemade food and strong local following, the café has become a valued part of the community. Building on that success, the team is now expanding their operations to include the Storiel café, while continuing to run their original venue.
The new café at Storiel will operate as “The Siabod @ Storiel” and is expected to open on Tuesday 10 February at 10am. The operators say the café will provide a relaxed and inclusive space for museum visitors, local residents and tourists, complementing Storiel’s exhibitions, events and educational activities.
Customers of the Pentrefelin café have been reassured that it will be business as usual at that location, with the team thanking supporters for helping make Moel Siabod Café such a success.
Further details about the opening and menu at The Siabod @ Storiel are expected in the coming days.
