3,800 patients were vaccinated against coronavirus at Ysbyty Enfys Bangor, over Easter weekend.
Despite 400 missed vaccination appointments no vaccine was wasted. After recent problems with missed appointments staff had over-booked the clinics by 50 patients a day.
From discussion with the Health board and from patient feedback, there are a number of issues that have been raised, including:
- Appointment letters arriving late
- Patients being unable to contact the booking line to cancel
- Patients already vaccinated by their GP
- Letters sent to the incorrect address
- Patient declining the vaccine but not contacting the health board
- Mobile phone number not up to date, and therefore text reminder not coming through
The Health board is working on increasing the capacity of the booking centre, but staff would appreciate your feedback about any other issues patients have identified, so they can try to address them.
The Ysbyty Enfys team are now vaccinating Cohort 10, currently patients in their 40’s, but vaccine supply is slow and appointments for all those in their 50’s should have now been sent out.
