Four men have admitted stealing more than £1,200 worth of clothes from Next in Bangor.
The men ‘sprinted out of store’ with bags of stolen clothes before ‘speeding-off’ in a Vauxhall Zafira last Friday (23rd August), however. their vehicle was stopped by police nearby.
Patrick Maguire (26), Martin Maguire (24), Michael Keenan (36) and Anthony Mongans (29), from Manchester, all pleaded guilty to theft when they appeared at a special weekend court in Llandudno.
Magistrates’ chairman Alwyn Lloyd Ellis told them: ”This was a group activity targeting Next in Bangor, the items stolen were of a high value.
“You drove 100 miles or thereabouts to commit this crime. Bail is refused on the grounds you will fail to surrender.”
All four men were refused bail and remanded in custody until sentencing on Thursday at Caernarfon magistrates’ court.
The stolen items were recovered by police.
