A 26 year old man from Liverpool has been jailed for 4 ½ years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine after he was stopped by Police officers in Bangor on 17th January 2017.
Jamie McCardle from Norris Green, Liverpool, was a member of an organised crime group bringing Class A Drugs to North wales.
Following the sentence at Caernarfon Crown Court, Det Sgt Andy Davies at Caernarfon Police Station said: “North Wales Police welcome the sentence today at Caernarfon Crown Court. McCardle was a member of an Organised Crime Group bringing Class A Drugs into our communities and I’m sure his sentence today will bring a degree of relief to many.
“His sentence is also a message to others thinking of bringing drugs into our town and villages, that with the support of the Crown Prosecution Service we will continue our relentless pursuit of those who cause the most serious harm. McCardle is the latest conviction, more will follow. There is no hiding place.”
Inspector Owain Llewellyn, District Inspector for North Gwynedd said “Today’s conviction is reward for a combination of good Police work and the continued help and support we are receiving from our communities. Intelligence used by police has resulted in almost 60 arrests in Mon and Gwynedd under Operation Rattle since last January and the seizure of drugs, weapons and other illegal materials. Ten individuals have so far been convicted under this operation with many more awaiting trial or still under investigation.
“Operation Rattle’ is an on-going investigation targeting those who bring controlled drugs into North West Wales from Merseyside and in line with the forces’ Operation Scorpion is directly targeting serious and organised crime.
