Les Davies has joined Trearddur Bay Football Club, nicknamed The Beach Boys, following his departure from Bangor 1876.
The iconic striker has amassed more than 400 Welsh Premier League appearances and netted 120 WPL goals in a career that has also seen the Bangor-born player appear for a number of other clubs, before joining phoenix club Bangor 1876 in 2019.
Davies is best known as a Welsh Premier League title winner in 2010-11, in addition to Welsh Cup wins in 2008, 2009 and 2010, under Neville Powell’s management at Bangor City.
In 2012, Davies was nominated for Uefa’s best player award, which also included nominee’s like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Trearddur Bay wasted no time in snapping up Les, to help them with their campaign in the North Wales Coast West Football League Premier Division, which is in the fourth tier of the Welsh football.
An announcement from the club said: “We’re pleased to announce Les Davies will join the club this week. Les needs no introduction as he’s been there and done it all in Welsh football. ‘The truck’ joins an already formidable front line at the club but offers us different options going forward. His attributes will combine superbly with the lads already at the club.
“His experience playing at the highest level will be a huge asset to the club. One of the best and well respected players in welsh football who has rubbed shoulders with the the likes of Messi, Ronaldo etc when he was nominated as one of the best players in Europe.
“We would like to welcome Les, his wife Clare and his children Ollie, Ellie, Abbie and Lucie to the club.
“Thanks to Bangor 1876 for the smooth transfer.”
