A new eight-part crime drama starts on BBC One Wales next week called ‘Hidden‘ which was filmed in various locations across North Wales, including Bangor.
From the makers of hit series Hinterland, Hidden tells the story of Detective Sargeant Cadi John, played by Requiem and Emmerdale star Siân Reese-Williams, who returns to North Wales to care for her ailing father.
When the body of a missing young woman is found in a disused quarry, DI Cadi John, leads an investigation that unearths a dangerous and disturbing reality.
Hidden is an eight part drama made up of inter-weaving stories, all linked by a single case – the abduction and incarceration of a young woman; a woman failed by the police and held in captivity for years, high in the Snowdonia mountains.
Through the highs and lows of the plot, through precise performances, we enter a hidden world full of intrigue, suspense and tension.
The welsh version of the drama – Craith, was broadcast on S4C in January 2018, with episodes airing on a weekly basis.
Bangor
In one episode viewers will see the community district nurse visit residents of a local council estate in Bangor, which has been filmed in Maesgeirchen.
The scenes resulted in a number of local people performing as extras during filming.
Siân Reese-Williams, who plays Cadi John, said: “People were coming out to see what was going on and we ended up with a load of free extras.
“I love how the estate meets the backdrop of these massive mountains.”
Viewers will also see scenes filmed in Menai Bridge, Llanberis, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Rhyd Ddu, Snowdonia.
