Monty the python has gone missing in Felinheli and now his owner has offered a reward for his safe return.

The 4’ 5” Royal Python has been missing for a ‘few weeks’ and owner John Judas has now appealed on Facebook to try and find his missing pet.

Royal pythons are native to West and Central Africa, where it lives in grasslands and shrublands. They can live longer than 20 years in captivity, with some living up to 40 years. In captivity they are usually fed mice and rats, in the wild they will catch other small mammals and sometimes birds.

This species of Python grows to an average length of 4 foot (1.2 m), with the females being the large of the two. Some specimens have been known to reach more than 5 foot (1.5m) in length.

Royal Pythons are generally considered to be good natured and docile snakes. Their relatively small size also makes them popular as pets. They are widely kept throughout the world as pets. Generally, they are considered to be a relatively easy species to keep as long as you have some basic knowledge of snakes

Pythons can go without eating for around six to eight months, although in extreme cases, they’ve been known to last for over a year without any food.

They are fairly docile, but may bite you for one reason or another. Pythons are not venomous and don’t have fangs, so a bite may not be as severe as other snake bites.

John said on Facebook that Monty has a Lovely temperament and is not dangerous at all.
