A member of Cyfeillion Ysbyty Gwynedd – Ysbyty Gwynedd League of Friends, has started a fundraiser for Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Gwenda Hughes, who lives in Felinheli has set herself a challenge of walking 100 miles locally in a month with Moli, her Golden Retriever.
“I have been inspired by Captain Tom Moore”, said Gwenda and “decided its my time to help”
Cyfeillion Ysbyty Gwynedd – Ysbyty Gwynedd League of Friends are a dedicated team of local volunteers who fundraise to buy vital equipment for Ysbyty Gwynedd. The charity was formed in 1969 and in 2019 celebrated 50 years of fundraising.
The charity’s main fundraising activities would include a twice weekly Sales Table in Ysbyty Gwynedd and Tombola Table as well as running successful Fashion Shows, Coffee mornings and Elvis evenings with Wynne Roberts.
“Due to Covid-19 all the fundraising activities are on hold for the time being” said Gwenda. “I have been looking to see if I could arrange something myself for our cause. And here I am walking 100 miles around Y Felinheli, enjoying the fresh air, discovering new areas and all for our amazing cause”

“I am truly humbled by the support already received and wish to thank everyone who has already donated my walk, with amazing donations on-line and off-line” Gwenda added. “I’m not far off my target of £500 already in only 5 days.
