The ‘Goetre Uchaf’ Housing development in Penrhosgarnedd, Bangor, has received the ‘Best Volume Housebuilder’ development award for Gwynedd in the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards 2018.

The Redrow development, which offers family friendly homes situated off Penrhos Road, was recognised for building excellence and going “that extra mile” in LABC’s highly respected county construction awards.

Judges were impressed by the design and construction of three and four-bedroom homes all built to an exceptional standard, right the way from the kitchen cupboards to the paintwork and the fixtures and fittings.

For Goetre Uchaf’s site manager Steve Jones, it was an endorsement of his project team’s tireless approach to meticulously deliver high quality homes, with strong partnership working a significant factor in the development’s success.

Mr Jones said: “We’re hugely proud of our Goetre Uchaf development, which is a truly great place to live with its spacious and stylish homes built to the highest standards.

“An unbelievable amount of care and commitment has gone into realising this project from design to conception and we’ve enjoyed excellent working relationships with the local authority, our partners and the best suppliers out there.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been honoured with the LABC award for Gwynedd, up against many other worthy construction projects who were also shortlisted, and this is very much a collective achievement.”

The LABC Building Excellence Awards take into account a number of key criteria including compliance with building regulations, effective working relationships with LABC surveyors, outstanding craftsmanship, technical innovation and sustainability and high performance.

Homes at Goetre Uchaf are from Redrow’s iconic Heritage Collection. External features have been inspired by the timeless style of the Arts & Craft movement, while inside their design layout specifically meets the needs and demands of a busy family, with utility rooms, large bedrooms and open dining spaces featured in many of the properties.

A combination of peaceful setting, the magnificent views, proximity to Bangor and excellent commuting links have made this development popular.

Remaining properties are currently priced from £246,995 for a four-bedroom detached Shrewsbury, with further three-bedroom properties coming soon.
