The former Ysgol Cae Top in Bangor has been listed for sale by auction, with a guide price of £100,000.
The old school building has been vacant since the school moved to a new £4m building at Eithinog in September in 2009.
When the building ceased to be used for educational purposes, it is believed the land was handed back to its original owners, the Church in Wales, and has remained vacant ever since, falling into a dilapidated state over the years.
The building, on Hill Street in upper Bangor, dates back to 1871. There were plans from Gwynedd Council in 2007 to turn the building into a residential home, but access to the site was found to be an issue, especially in the case of an emergency.
Agents Williams and Goodwin describe the property as: “An unusual opportunity to acquire the Freehold site of the Former Cae Top School situated in the Upper Bangor district of the city with the site extending to some 0.89 of an acre.”
The property is listed with an Online Auction Guide Price £100,000 with suggested opening bid of £80,000 Unless Sold or Withdrawn Prior.
The proposed online bidding is due to end on 24.03.2022.
