Football will return to the 3G pitch at Bangor City, after an outstanding electricity bill at the club has been paid.

The electricity supply for the 3G pitch had been cut off because of the unpaid bill owed by the club, believed to be in excess of £18,000. Soccersixes has paid the outstanding electric bill on behalf of the club and will now operate leagues on Sunday and Monday evenings.

Soccersixes is the largest FA Affilated 5/6-a-side soccer network in the UK with over 300 leagues nationwide and over 30,000 players active every week.  Soccersixes hire 3g and astroturf pitches and offer local teams and players the chance to play weekly on the pitches.

Adam Ayers, league operations manager, said: “Bangor City FC have been unable to so far fulfil any fixtures for their main team since the Football Association Wales (FAW) ban in December 2021 due to unpaid wages.

“At this time, the small-sided league operating at the club also has been off due to lack of funds to pay for lighting.

“We at Soccersixes have looked at this, as we feel we are currently letting our sides down by not getting the league running.

“We therefore will be clearing said bills in order for the small-sided leagues to at least run and be paying for the use of the 3G pitch in order to provide the club with well-required revenue.”

Sundays will run between 6pm and 9pm offering teams 45min match windows (approximately 40mins of football) for £30.00 per team per week. That fee would cover all fees including pitch hire, referees and equipment.

Mondays will be slightly different, running between 7pm and 10pm offering teams 30min match windows (approximately 28mins of football) for £20.00 per team per week for the first 2 seasons (after that £24.00 per team). That fee would cover all fees including pitch hire, referees, equipment.
