Election to be held for Bangor City Council Hirael Ward

An election is to be held for a Councillor for Hirael Ward on the City of Bangor Council.

The election follows the resignation of Independent Councillor Keith Jones from the City Council, although he will continue to represent Hirael as a county councillor on Gwynedd Council.

Nomination Papers for candidates must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Gwynedd Council, Council Offices, Shirehall Street, Caernarfon LL55 1SH on any weekday and not later than 4.00pm on Friday, 1 November, 2019.

Forms of Nomination Paper may be obtained from the Returning Officer who will at the request of any elector for the ward, prepare a nomination paper for signature.

If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, 28 November, 2019.

Hirael is one of eight electoral wards in the city of Bangor and has a population of 1,706 according to the 2011 Census. Hirael has two councillors representing the ward on Bangor City Council and one on Gwynedd Council.
