Four local DJ’s are growing moustaches throughout November to raise awareness of men’s health issues and to raise money for the ‘Movember’ charity.
Elevate UK team & friends Gareth Williams, Jay Slingsby, SteVe and Jay Goodall will be broadcasting live from the Elevate Studio on 24th November, by which point the moustaches should be well formed!
Jay said: “We’re raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives.
“The state of men’s health is in crisis. Men experience worse longer-term health than women and die on average six years earlier.
“Prostate cancer rates will double in the next 15 years. Testicular cancer rates have already doubled in the last 50.
“Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute.”
