Bangor City Council has announced that it is extending the funding of the COVID-19 Support Grant scheme for a further three months.
The grant scheme, which was established in March, is designed to assist local charities and community groups working in our communities to assist those suffering additional hardship as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.
As of 31st May, almost £8,000 of the original £15,000 fund has been awarded, including:
- Cathedral Food Bank £3,000
- Coed Mawr Food Bank £2,000
- Bangor Food Share £2,000
- Tarian Cymru £500
- Hendre Community Group £200
The Mayor, Councillor John Wyn Williams said: “In this changing situation the City Council is adapting to the needs of the people of Bangor.
“This fund is supporting those organisations working on the front line of economic need.
“The City Council is pleased to announce that the scheme is to be extended for a further three months, until the end of August 2020, and a further £15,000 allocated to it.“
