Watkin Property Ventures (WPV) has pledged £32,500 in funding for Coed Mawr Food Bank in Bangor, significantly expanding its support for this vital community service.
Amid escalating cost-of-living pressures, the food bank has seen a significant increase in demand in recent years. The centre now provides up to 60 families weekly with full food packages, which include breakfast and five additional meals.
Building on their existing partnership, which saw regular donations and a successful Christmas campaign in 2023, WPV has increased its commitment for 2025. This new funding will help ensure the food bank can continue to meet growing community needs.
Christine King, from the Coed Mawr Food Bank, expressed gratitude for the support: “WPV’s contribution has been transformative for our work. Their generous funding enables us to continue serving those in need within the Coed Mawr area, providing many with a lifeline. Regardless of size, every donation helps us maintain this essential service for our community.”
Mark Watkin Jones, CEO of Watkin Property Ventures, said: “Having been brought up in Bangor, supporting our local community is important to me and the company. Our investment in Coed Mawr Food Bank reflects our commitment to creating a real impact where our employees live and work. Christine and her team’s dedication is remarkable, and we’re proud to help them build a more resilient community.”
