Debenhams has confirmed the closing dates for its stores in North Wales, including Bangor.

A £55 million deal with online retailer Boohoo was announced in January this year, which will see the department store relaunch as an online-only operation later this year. The agreement does not include the Debenhams’ stores – all of which will close after nearly 250 years of trading – putting 12,000 jobs at risk.

The remaining 118 stores reopened on 12 April after lockdown for liquidators to sell off stock before closing. Debenhams said shoppers will find discounts of up to 80% off fashion and home and up to 70% off beauty and fragrance products.

A spokesperson for Debenhams said: “With such great bargains on offer, it’s no wonder our stock is selling out incredibly fast. Time is running out for shoppers to take advantage of the incredible discounts being offered at these 27 stores.”

The retailer confirmed today the Bangor store will close permanently on 4th May, the Llandudno and Wrexham stores will close on 2nd May 2021.
