North Wales Police have issued a safety warning after a child fell from the roof at the former Ysgol Cae Top in Bangor.
The warning comes ahead of schools closing for the summer – and concerns surrounding children and young people trespassing at disused sites.
In a statement on Facebook, Police said: “Following a recent incident where a child was injured at a derelict building in Bangor, we are reminding people of the dangers of trespassing.
“Earlier this month, a trespasser climbed onto an unstable roof light of the former Ysgol Cae Top on Hill Street, Bangor and fell three metres to the ground.”
PC Michael Sambrook said: “Thankfully the child did not sustain any serious injuries, but it comes as a warning to others not to trespass – particularly at unsafe and dangerous locations such as this one.
“We will be speaking to local school children about the dangers of trespassing and educating children on the dangers – but we also need care-givers help to really get that message across – especially in the lead up to the school holidays.”
Anyone who witnesses trespassers at the derelict Ysgol Cae Top site is urged to make contact with the force.
