North Wales Police have closed Britannia Bridge, Eastbound and Westbound, predicted for at least the next 5 hours.

The closure stretches from Junction 9 for Treborth to Junction 8 of the A55 and covers the Britannia Bridge – one of two crossings linking Anglesey to mainland Wales.
An update on the Traffic Wales website said that the road had been closed at 3.36am on Thursday morning.
Traffic Wales North & Mid said in an update on Twitter at 6am: “#A55 : Both directions : J9 Treborth to J8 Ael y Bowl : Incident : Accident : Road closed : Diversion : Likely be closed until this afternoon.”
There were no further details immediately available on the circumstances of the incident, although Traffic Wales road cameras showed emergency services attending at the scene.
Fire service at the scene
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to a “serious” crash involving four vehicles.
“We were called at 2.56hrs this morning to a serious RTC involving 4 vehicles on the A55 west bound Junction 11 Llandegai to Junction 8a Britannia Bridge – 3 appliances attended.
“We assisted with extrication of casualties using Holmatro equipment. Police and Ambulance also in attendance. Road was closed in both directions.”
Welsh Ambulance Service update
The Welsh Ambulance Service said they responded with an immediate care paramedic provided by the North Wales Emergency Doctors Service, two ambulances, supported by the air ambulance.
Road expected to be closed ‘across the morning’
According to the Inrix traffic monitoring service:
The road remains closed following an accident around 03:00 and is expected to remain closed across the morning.
Diversion – via the Menai Suspension Bridge which has a width restriction of 2.6 metres and a height limit of 4.7 metres.
