Filming has started at ‘Hair by C & J’ in Bangor for the 3rd series of S4C‘s ‘Y Salon’ which is due to be broadcast in October.
The factual entertainment series is filmed in several hairdressers across Wales, taking a ‘fly-on-the-wall’ look at regular customers having their hair done as they discuss news and trivialities with their stylist, allowing viewers to eavesdrop on ‘real-life’ gossip from the hair salons.
The cameras have been eavesdropping at Llanharan, Caernarfon, Bangor and Llanybydder, and the stylists Alun, Jason, Colin, Carys, Cara, Catrin and Rhian will be listening and advising the customers at the salon, barbershop and nail bar. Will there be familiar faces in the chair? The salon is not just for hairdressing! This is the modern confessional box, where customers share all sorts of secrets!
Research has shown that hairdressers are one of the professions that people trust the most and as the styling starts the conversation develops, the hairdressers and clients discuss everything, from serious news stories to celebrity gossip and of course all the local news and gossip.
C & J are a well established hair salon, having been in Bangor for over 17 years and have spent the last few years on Bangor High Street. The salon have featured on the programme before and staff are excited for the new series.
The popular S4C series has recently won the 2018 BAFTA Cymru awards in the entertainment category, so make sure you watch the new series and look out for some familiar faces, while catching up on the local Bangor gossip!
