The wait is over for Bangor City 1876 supporters after the full fixture list for the 2026/27 Novira Cymru North season was officially released.
The Citizens begin the new campaign with one of the biggest games of the opening weekend as they welcome newly-relegated Bala Town to the Bangor City Stadium on Saturday, 1 August (2.30pm).
It promises to be an intriguing curtain-raiser. Bala return to the second tier for the first time in 17 years and have already been installed as 4/6 favourites to win the Cymru North title. Bangor, meanwhile, are the bookmakers’ 13/8 second favourites, meaning the league’s two leading promotion contenders will go head-to-head on the opening day.
Bangor’s first away fixture follows a week later with a trip to Denbigh Town, before home matches against Llanuwchllyn and Brickfield Rangers in the opening month.
Local derbies
There are plenty of eye-catching North Wales derbies throughout the season.
The first meeting with Holyhead Hotspur comes away on Saturday, 22 August, before the return fixture under the lights at the Bangor City Stadium on Friday, 18 December.
Bangor’s first clash with Rhyl 1879 takes place at home on Saturday, 5 September, while one of the standout fixtures of the festive period sees the Citizens travel to Belle Vue on Boxing Day for what is sure to be another fiercely contested encounter between the old rivals.
Meetings with Porthmadog are scheduled for Saturday, 3 October at Y Traeth and Saturday, 20 February in Bangor.
Festive football and season finale
Following the Boxing Day derby at Rhyl, Bangor return home to face Denbigh Town on Saturday, 2 January.
The campaign reaches its conclusion on Saturday, 17 April, when Caersws visit the Bangor City Stadium for the final league fixture of the season.
Elsewhere in the early title betting, Rhyl 1879 are priced at 6/1, followed by Newtown at 7/1, with Guilsfield and Mold Alexandra both available at 10/1.
With a blockbuster opening fixture, several local derbies, a Boxing Day trip to Rhyl and promotion expectations already building, there is plenty for the Blue Army to look forward to as the countdown to the new season begins.
