Bangor 1876 will play their home games at Nantporth next season after reaching an agreement with the Nantporth Community Interest Company (CIC).
The future home of 1876 was uncertain due to a dispute between Nantporth CIC and Bangor City Council over a dispute of £63,000 in rent and insurance arrears, the dispute has recently been settled.
The stadium opened in 2012 after Bangor City moved from Farrar Road. As well as the 1,100-seater stadium with a license to host some European and age grade international matches, and played host to this year’s Welsh Cup Final. Nantporth CIC also owns a 3G pitch which is in regular use by several local grassroots clubs.
A statement from Bangor 1876 said: “We have reached agreement with Nantporth CIC to play at the stadium next season. The CIC have a number of ambitious plans to develop Nantporth, and, along with Bangor Women’s, we hope to make it our home for many seasons to come.
“The future is exciting, and we can now plan with confidence to ensure that football in Bangor has a long and sustainable future. Nantporth has the potential to be the best stadium in the whole of the Welsh pyramid system, and we look forward to working with the CIC to ensure that it achieves that status.”
