People from Bangor are being asked to donate shoeboxes containing items for elderly and vulnerable people being supported by a care provider in the area this Christmas.
Abacare has launched its shoebox appeal, for the fifth year running, for its service users who may not be able to shop for essentials during the festive season.
Ffion Evans, Registered Manager at Abacare, which has offices in Bangor, said: “We are once again asking the generous people of Wales to get behind our festive shoebox appeal. It has been extremely successful in the past, so we have decided to continue it again this year.
“We’re asking people to fill a shoebox with essentials and other bits and pieces that they think would really help brighten someone’s day. We would suggest hats, scarves, slippers, toiletries, books and something a bit more festive and fun for Christmas.
“All of the boxes donated will be evenly distributed among our elderly service users and we’re sure it will really help brighten their day.”
Any shoeboxes can be dropped off or sent to Abacare’s offices at 9, Ash Court, Parc Menai, Bangor, Gwynedd, LL57 4DF. The deadline for boxes to be sent is Friday, 20 December.
