Police have warned they will ‘not tolerate the roads being used as racetracks’ after a motorcyclist was caught speeding at 110mph on the A55 near Bangor.

The 18-year-old will now have to appear in court to account for his actions.

A Facebook post from North Wales Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “We’ve warned you that we will not tolerate the roads being used as racetracks.

“One of our officers has just stopped a motorcyclist on the A55 (outskirts of Bangor) being ridden at 110mph. That’s 40mph over the speed limit.

“The 18-year-old local rider, has only had his motorcycle licence since February.

“He’ll now be summonsed to explain his actions to the court and could potentially face disqualification.”
