Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team were called out to reports of a 72-year-old man falling 10 metres down a rocky path near Ogwen Falls on Thursday, 3 March.
The team were called just after 4pm after the man slipped and fell on his way with friends to see the waterfall. He sustained a head injury and was knocked unconscious for 5 minutes and had severe concussion when he woke up.
A spokesperson for the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team said: “Team casualty carers administered first aid and the Coastguard helicopter was requested due to his head injury and inability to walk.
“Once handed over to the winchman, the casualty was flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor for treatment, we hope he recovers quickly and gets to see the waterfall eventually.
“Due to the proximity to the road, the A5 was closed by team vehicles for the winch and we would like to thank everyone affected for their patience while they were delayed.”
