Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Nathan Broadhead for an undisclosed fee from Everton. The Bangor-born forward has signed a contract with the League One promotion hopefuls until 2026.
The 24-year-old joined Everton Academy at the age of 10 and made two senior appearances for the Club as a substitute, earning his debut at Apollon Limassol in the Europa League in December 2017.
Wales Under-21 international Broadhead spent the first half of this season on loan in the Championship with Wigan Athletic, having previously had successful spells at Sunderland last term and Burton Albion in 2019/20.
Nathan told iFollow Ipswich in his first interview at the Club: “I want to help this team get promoted and score goals in the process,”
“Looking at it from the outside, it’s clear that Kieran McKenna has the team playing some really good football, and that’s something that made me want to come here.
“Under him the team is going places and I will work hard to help.
“I’ve played at Portman Road as an opposition player and it was a hostile place playing for the other team – it was one of the toughest games of my career [last season for Sunderland against Town] so far and was very intense. I’m looking forward to being part of it this time in front of the fans.”
“He really fits the profile of what we want to bring to the Club and where we want to go,” Kieran added.
“He’s a young, talented player physically and technically. He’s very gifted and fits into our playing style very well.
“He’s also at a stage of his career where he feels like it’s time to find a permanent home for his football.
“He’s come to a progressive team and a progressive club. We want to play a certain style of football and will give him opportunities to showcase what he can do.”
Nathan will wear the number 33 shirt for Town.
