Community youth performing arts club ‘Maes-G ShowZone’ in Maesgeirchen, Bangor, has secured funding of £10,000 from the National Lottery’s Community Fund.

Maes-G ShowZone is a community youth performing arts club, for children in school year 3 and up, that emerged out of a pursuit to inspire and support the community, and a desire for actions to speak louder than words. Established in 2020, by volunteers, during the Coronavirus crisis where children and young people had suffered seclusion, decreasing mental health, and low self-esteem the aim was to bring them together again, to reach for the stars, and grow in a safe and supportive environment.

Steffie Williams-Roberts, Creative Director at Maes-G ShowZone, said: “We are delighted to announce that thanks to the National Lottery’s Community Fund we have been able to secure core funding of £10,000 from their Awards for All scheme.

“The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, will see MaesG ShowZone safely through to the next show in July 2022.

“This ensures that MaesG ShowZone will continue to support our children and young people into the future, which is at the heart of all we do, we are beyond happy to have been given this funding! Thank you The National Lottery.”
