Two surgeons from Ysbyty Gwynedd will perform alongside pianists from Channel 4’s The Piano at a candlelit concert in Conwy to raise funds for Conwy Mind.

Prash Jesudason, a consultant hand and wrist surgeon, and Carlvan Lee, an orthopaedic registrar, will perform alongside Chris Miggells and Brendon Ireland at Conwy’n Gofalu on Friday 13 November 2026.

The two surgeons founded Healing Hands in Harmony to raise money for community health causes through music. The group is returning to the church where it held its first concert, following a fundraiser in May.

Miggells and Ireland will perform their own compositions as part of a programme that also includes works by Fauré, Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven and Debussy.

Mr Jesudason said the concert would help fund support for people and families in the local community.

“All the profits raised from our concert will go directly back into supporting our own local community,” he said.

He added that stigma and misunderstanding around mental health conditions persist and that “raising awareness is just as important as raising money.”

Mr Lee said it can be daunting to deal with mental health problems alone. He highlighted Conwy Mind’s counselling, support groups and Changing Minds project, which offers free wellbeing checks known as Mental Health MOTs to help people address stress and anxiety early.

“We are more than happy to help and support them in any way we can, and we really look forward to welcoming you at the concert,” he said.

The concert starts at 7pm, with doors opening at 6pm, at St Mary’s Church, Rose Hill Street, Conwy, LL32 8LD. There is no need to book, and the suggested donation is £15 per person on the door. All proceeds will support Conwy Mind.

Anyone unable to attend can donate online. Support the fundraiser on JustGiving.
