With polling day today, 6 May, advice has been shared on how to vote safely during the pandemic.
Gwynedd Council have made arrangements to make polling stations safe places to vote, and measures such as hand sanitiser or floor markings will have been provided to help keep voters safe.
The Welsh Government has issued guidance for voters in polling stations:
- Social distancing, enforced through 2m distancing, one-way systems, queue management and the use of clear safety screens
- Voters are encouraged to bring their own pens/pencils
- Face coverings must be worn inside a polling station, unless you have a valid reason for exemption.
- PPE for polling station staff
- Polling booths will be regularly sanitised.
Provision has also been made for an emergency proxy application for those who have been advised to self-isolate.
Registered voters in Bangor will have an opportunity to elect a Member of the Senedd for the Arfon constituency, 4 Members of the Senedd for the North Wales Electoral Region, and the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner.
Polling stations are open from: 7:00AM – 10:00PM
