Bangor Aye’s Film of The Week: Wonka (PG)

Based on the extraordinary character at the centre of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, “Wonka” tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Rotten Tomatoes Reviews: 86%

It’s the sort of movie that kids (and their parents) will remember watching at the cinema in years to come. And yes, it will give you a warm and gooey feeling, like Lindt chocolate at Christmas.

The film is charming and warm-hearted, much like Paddington and its sequel, and the onscreen delight is infectious.

Wonka delights like a yummy cup of cocoa topped with whipped cream and colorful rainbow sprinkles. Timothée Chalamet, in his best performance, sings and dances up a cotton candy storm on his magical quest to become a renowned chocolatier.
