Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has issued a notice to patients and visitors regarding potential delays due to roadworks scheduled to begin near Ysbyty Gwynedd on Tuesday, 22 April.

The works will take place between the Ysbyty Gwynedd roundabout and Ffordd Cae Cilmelyn and are expected to significantly disrupt traffic flow in the area, leading to increased congestion.

To help avoid delays and ensure that appointments are not missed, all patients and visitors are strongly encouraged to allow extra travel time when coming to the hospital.

Paul Andrew, Integrated Health Community Director of Operations for the West of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, stated: “Due to the upcoming roadworks in the surrounding area, we kindly advise all patients and visitors to allow additional time when traveling to the hospital. These works are likely to cause delays, and we want to ensure everyone arrives on time for their appointments. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this period.”

The roadworks are part of the Penrhos Road Active Travel Scheme, which aims to improve walking and cycling provisions in the area on behalf of Cyngor Gwynedd.

Traffic management will be in operation 24 hours a day from Monday to Friday. Temporary traffic lights will control the traffic flow and will be manually operated between 7:30 AM and 8:00 PM.

No weekend work is expected during this project; however, if necessary, traffic management will continue to be manually operated during the same weekday hours.

The work is expected to last for approximately 10 weeks.
