Anyone yet to receive an appointment for their first Covid-19 vaccine, in Bangor and the surrounding area, can now phone to book an appointment.
Local surgeries are now busy vaccinating patients with their second doses for the coming weeks and patients who are outstanding in Cohort 10 (18-50) are being called to Ysbyty Enfys, Bangor.
Due to problems with appointments not being attended, the Health Board in the North-West Wales have decided to change the system and patients of any age who have not received their first vaccine can phone up to book an appointment.
A statement on the Clwster Arfon Facebook Page said: “We had around 200 missed appointments a day, which put administrative pressure on the team and was unsustainable there were a number of reasons for appointments being missed.
“From now onwards, patients who remain unvaccinated in Cohort 10 (18-50 years old) who don’t already have an appointment, are invited to phone Ysbyty Enfys, Bangor to arrange their appointment for first vaccination on 03000 841012 or 03000 841011.
“Please do not phone the surgeries regarding the appointments.”
