Two men have been charged with criminal damage after hanging baskets were damaged on Bangor High Street.
In an update from North Wales Police, Gwynedd North Inspector Arwel Hughes said: “On 14th August, I was made aware of a social media post circulating, whereby a number of hanging baskets had been damaged along the lower end of Bangor High Street sometime overnight.
“Having received this information I asked for an investigation into what had happened. Upon reviewing cctv, two men were seen walking along the high street in the early hours of the morning, deliberately damaging a number of hanging baskets.
“There will be those who hold the view that the police should focus their time more wisely and concentrate elsewhere. However, we as the local policing team have pride in where we work, and this kind of wanton damage will not be tolerated.
“A number of local individuals work hard in the community to look after and improve the appearance of the city. The local policing team will fully support those individuals and work with our partners to play our part where we can.
“The two males concerned have been summoned to court for the offence of criminal damage.”
