Star of Strictly Come Dancing, Wales’s very own Amy Dowden and her partner, British Champion Ben Jones, will bring an exciting new show to the stage when they perform at Pontio in Bangor. With the help of their long-time friend and Strictly finalist Colin Jackson and a cast of supporting dancers.
Amy Dowden is a ballroom and Latin American dancer from Wales. Dowden and her dancing partner Ben Jones are the current British National Champions in Latin American Dance. Dowden was a finalist in the seventeenth series of Strictly Come Dancing with Karim Zeroual in 2019.
Amy and Ben will bring a powerful love story to life featuring all your favourite Latin and Ballroom styles. The show also features a live vocalist and stunning soundtrack guaranteed to get the audience moving too – it’s time to get Lost In The Rhythm
World, Commonwealth and European champion hurdler, Colin Jackson competed at the highest level of athletics from 1986 to 2002 and held the 110m Hurdles World Record for 11 years. Only the Olympic title eluded him. Colin was awarded the MBE in 1988 followed by the CBE in 1992 for services to athletics.
Colin competed in the third series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2005 with professional dancer Erin Boag. Making it through to the final, Colin lost out on first place to cricketer Darren Gough and dance partner Lilia Kopylova.
In the 2006 Christmas Special, Colin and Erin were to taste victory, with an amazing Quickstep which they danced to “I Get A Kick Out Of You”, scoring a perfect 40 from the judges, and the audience voted them to Christmas Champions.
