With children being educated from home during the Covid-19 crisis, Storiel Museum in Bangor are using their historical resources in the museum to provide information sheets for the whole family.
All the resources in Storiel behind closed doors for the time being, they museum and gallery is offering a fantastic opportunity to enjoy them from home. There’s a series of information sheets available that are suitable for children from Key Stage 2 and above, and they’re all bilingual.
The topics include the Celts, Slate Carvings and The Clio – and they’re all associated with north Wales history, with relevant pictures to go with every subject.
Councillor Gareth Thomas, Gwynedd Council Cabinet Member for Economy and Community said: “It’s a shame that children and families will miss out on the experience of visiting places like Storiel to learn new things with each other during this crisis. But, I’m extremely pleased to see that they’ve managed to provide this education in an adapted way.
“It’s humbling to see so many locations and businesses we have here in Gwynedd managing to adapt their Services to allow that the people of the Count and beyond will have a chance to enjoy them. Everyone truly appreciates their efforts.”
Storiel will be updating their most recent sheets on their website once they’re completed – https://www.storiel.cymru/learn/
All the artefacts will still be at Storiel to be seen following the Coivd-19 crisis and they welcome tours and trips.
