A speeding motorist who passed police on the A55 near Bangor was clocked at a speed of 97mph, then he also failed a roadside drugs test.

 

North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said on Facebook: “Speeding whilst on drugs? Not a great combination is it…

“Man stopped after passing us doing 97mph on the A55 near Bangor yesterday (Sunday, 14 February).

“Unfortunately he also failed the roadside drugs test after testing positive for cannabis.

“Ticket issued for speeding and he was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

“He was later released under investigation and we now wait for the the results of a further blood test.

“There’s 2 of the Fatal 5 right there”.

The ‘Fatal 5’ are the five main causes of deaths and serious injuries on the roads of Wales. This includes drink/drug driving, driving without a seat belt, driving whilst using a mobile phone, speeding and driving carelessly.
