The Repair Café will help will with:
- Clothing repairs
- Laptop/IT support & fixes where possible
- Bike repairs
- Small electrical repairs
Waste Awareness Week is an annual week to raise awareness and educate students around waste prevention, reuse, and recycling. The week is organised by several departments from across the University as well as Gwynedd Council, Keep Wales Tidy and Repair Café Wales.
Ffion Monks, Communications Lead at Undeb Bangor, Bangor Students’ Union, said: “We’re excited to be able to extend the Repair Cafe to local residents and we’re hoping to get plenty of items fixed.
“This is a great way to extend the life of some of our loved items. The event organisers help with training our student volunteers and so this is only the first of many Repair Café’s we’ll be hosting.
“Swing by the first on campus Repair Café on the 20 October; giving your items a longer life reduce litter and save you money. What’s not to love? Volunteers will be on site from 10am-1pm, in Room 3 in the Activities Hub.”
The Activities Hub is based above ‘Bar Uno’ which is located on the Ffriddoedd Halls of Residents Site on Ffriddoedd Road, Bangor.
This event is in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy – Cadwch Gymru’n Daclus Repair Café Wales and Gwynedd Council.
