Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd are proud to be supporting North Wales Society for the Blind on their special charity night on the 16th July 2021.

Between 8-9pm, there will be a local dedicated North Wales Society for the Blind show with Yvonne Gallienne and Sarah Wynn Griffiths highlighting the invaluable work of North Wales Society for the Blind in Bangor and a special chat with Nick Thomas, Development Officer at the charity, and 12 year old Ellis Hughes who is visually impaired but is being supported by his buddy dog, Ralph.

During this valuable charity show, a range of celebrities will be featured including Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Andrea Bocelli.

Patients can listen to Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd’s special North Wales Society for the Blind’s show by their bedsides in Ysbyty Gwynedd on Channel 1. Listeners outside the Hospital can tune in online on: www.radioysbytygwynedd.com

Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd is going from strength to strength and was recently nominated for a national award for ‘Radio Station of the Year’ at the prestigious Community Radio Awards 2020.

The Hospital Radio Station have been broadcasting since 1976 and have also been broadcasting online since the beginning of last year. The Hospital Radio Station is celebrating its 45th year this year and is planning a very special event to celebrate.

The Radio Station is staffed entirely by volunteers and brings music, information, requests and messages from friends and relatives direct to patients’ bedside.
