Pontio in Bangor is joining in the UK wide ‘Fun Palaces’ campaign and hosting its very own Free ‘Fun Palace’ on Saturday 6th October.
Fun Palaces is a free, nationwide ongoing campaign for culture at the heart of the community, celebrating the unique skills and passions of local people – run by and for the local community.
Pontio Arts will work in collaboration with Pontio Innovation and Catering departments, Bangor University’s Student Union and School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences and Sarah Mumford and Ethan Ray, to host a creative and fun day for all, and it’s all for free!
The activities will include karate sessions, a fun session looking at different/similar forms in football and dance, food tasting and cooking and origami workshops.
It all starts at 10am on Saturday 6th October and will go on throughout the day until 4pm. All events take place in various spaces on Level 2 in Pontio and anyone is welcome to come along any time of the day.
Pontio’s artistic director, Elen ap Robert said: “It’s very exciting to be working with different departments within Pontio, putting our creative hats on and creating a fun day for the whole community.
“We hope that people of all ages will come in for a wonder to see what we have on and have some new experiences here at Pontio!”
Storiel will also be hosting a Fun Palace so make sure you have a look what they have in store as well!
