A 46-year-old man from the Anglesey area has been arrested on suspicion of assault and the possession of a bladed article, following an incident on Bangor High Street.
A statement from North Wales Police said: “Shortly after 2.10pm today, 20 December, Police received a report of an incident on Bangor High Street.
“Following a quick response from officers, a 46-year-old man from the Anglesey area was arrested on suspicion of assault and the possession of a bladed article.
District Inspector Ian Roberts said: “I understand that the increased police presence on the high street this afternoon may have caused concern among the local community.
“I’d like to reassure members of the public that due to the quick actions of officers with support from armed officer colleagues and the community, this incident was resolved quickly.
“Anyone with information or footage of the incident that may assist in our enquiries is asked to get in touch with the police.”
