Police have renewed their appeal for information one month after the body of a baby girl, named Ceri, was discovered on the Bangor shoreline.
North Wales Police say Baby Ceri’s mother has not yet been identified and officers remain determined to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
Her body was found by a member of the public near the Siliwen Road area shortly before 5pm on Sunday, 27 September. The baby girl was later given the name Ceri. North Wales Police
In an update, the force said officers had reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, responded to information submitted by the public and distributed more than 2,000 leaflets to people living and working locally.
Police said all possible lines of enquiry were being followed, with officers continuing to work with experts on specialist tests which could provide new avenues to explore.
Superintendent Llinos Davies said: “We remain determined to get answers for Baby Ceri.
“Officers are tirelessly investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and are continuing to appeal to her mother, father or family to come forward.
“This has been a heartbreaking case for the community of Bangor and beyond.
“The support and compassion we’ve received has been unwavering as we continue to appeal for any information that could be relevant to finding out what happened to Baby Ceri.”
Police say a dedicated phone line remains available at all times for Baby Ceri’s mother to speak to a trained specialist who will listen and support her.
Officers have previously appealed to anyone who regularly walked in the Siliwen Road and Ashley Fields areas between 30 August and 27 September to come forward. They have also asked for photographs or videos taken around the Menai Strait shoreline at Siliwen during that period to be uploaded to the public portal. North Wales Police
