North Wales Police have appealed for information about an incident at the Skerries pub in Bangor when a guide dog was attacked by a white Pitbull.
The incident occurred at 1:10am on Thursday 20 December and the guide dog suffered a bite mark to the neck, after being assessed by a vet the dog has been given antibiotics and is now recovering.
A spokesperson for Guide Dogs Cymru, said: “We were shocked and saddened to learn of the attack on guide dog Lewis, who was working and in harness.
“The dog has received veterinary treatment and we will continue to monitor his progress.
“Guide dogs are life-changing for those with sight loss, helping their owners live life to the full.
“Attacks on our dogs destroy confidence and can mean a guide dog owner once again loses their freedom and independence.”
