North Wales Police are appealing to the parents of teenage boys who were seen trying to re-start the forest fire at Braichmelyn near Bethesda, which led to 30 homes being evacuated.
The Bethesda fire was one of a series of large wildfires in North Wales over recent days, which also included a large fire on Bangor mountain.
In a Facebook post last night (3 July) North Wales Police Bangor & Bethesda asked:
“Do you live in Bethesda ?
“Do you have a son aged 13/14 ?
“Where is he now ?
“Could he have been with four of his mates in Braichmelyn about an hour ago trying to re start the fire that the fire service have been battling since 3.30am to put out ?
“Wonder if they will smell of smoke when they come home ?”
Anyone with information please contact North Wales Police on 101.
