North Wales Police are appealing for dashcam or CCTV footage following a police pursuit that ended in Bangor on Wednesday, 16th July.

At approximately 12:30pm, officers attempted to stop a red VW Polo GTI on the A5 at Ogwen. The vehicle failed to stop and continued along the A5 from Bethesda towards Bangor, passing landmarks including the Llandegai Industrial Estate entrance and the crematorium. It then turned left into Maesgeirchen, where it eventually came to a stop.

Later that day, a 39-year-old man was arrested by officers on Bangor High Street. He is currently in police custody and being questioned in connection with the incident.

As part of the operation, police said a “roadblock” was set up on Caernarfon Road in Bangor, where searches were conducted on all vehicles entering and leaving the city to locate the man, who had been involved in a pursuit with officers earlier in the day.

As part of their ongoing investigation, police are eager to speak with anyone who may have dash cam or CCTV footage of the pursuit.
