Plans have been submitted to turn an empty retail store in Bangor’s Deiniol Centre into a snooker and pool hall.
Iceland frozen food retailer, which has 500 branches nationwide, announced they would be shutting their doors at the Deiniol Centre in March last year.
Staff were transferred to the new Food Warehouse, which is part of the Iceland group, at Menai Retail Park on Caernarfon Road, the following day. The unit in the Deiniol Centre has been empty ever since.
The new development, if approved, would bring a much-needed boost to Bangor’s ailing High Street, after a succession of big-name closures following the Covid pandemic.
They snooker hall could employ up to five staff at the site and it would be open until 11pm each evening.
The application will be considered by planners at Cyngor Gwynedd.
