Siân Gwenllian MS will tell party members that she and Plaid Cymru want to “get on with the job of providing excellent health services,” with a medical school “set in motion” and a Dental Training Unit “on the horizon.”
The local MS who has represented Bangor as part of the Arfon constituency in the Senedd since 2016 addressed the conference virtually from her home village of y Felinheli, in line with Covid-19 regulations.
“It has been a tremendous privilege to represent the area for five years and it would be a great privilege to return to the Senedd on behalf of the people of Arfon after the May Election.” she said.
She talked about “getting on with the job of getting excellent health services for the area” that includes making Bangor a national centre for health. Her calls come following an announcement that doctors and dentists will soon be trained in the city of Bangor.
The developments were referred to by the local MS as “an important part of Plaid Cymru’s pledge of a thousand new doctors.”
“The work of Arfon’s carers is invaluable and they deserve to be treated equally and with respect.”
The MS, who will be standing for re-election in May also refered to an economic boost for the west of Wales, provision of suitable housing, education, the environment and the Welsh language.
The other candidates who have confirmed they will be standing for election in the upcoming Senedd elections are Iwan Wyn Jones for Labour and Martin Bristow as an Independent.
