Penrhyn Castle will reopen their garden and grounds on 6 July. The Welsh Government also confirmed the requirement to ‘stay local’ in Wales will be removed from Monday.
The National Trust have now opened more than 100 gardens and parklands in England and Northern Ireland. From Monday 6 July, they are starting to gradually open gardens and parklands in Wales. The grounds of Plas Newydd on Anglesey will also reopen on Monday.
To ensure the safety of visitors, staff, volunteers and local communities, the number of people who can visit at one time has been reduced and visitors will need to book in advance and will be turned away if they arrive without a booking. The buildings, shop and tea-room remain closed.
A statement on the National Trust website said: “We’ve introduced advanced booking at some places to help manage visitor numbers and maintain safe, social distancing. All visitors must book in advance, even if you’re a member. Sadly, if you don’t book, you’ll be turned away.
“We’re limiting numbers to make sure that we can keep visitors and staff safe. These limited advance tickets do go quickly, but every Friday we release new tickets for the following week, so it’s worth checking back regularly.
“We’re also opening more gardens and parks every week and increasing the tickets available for those places already open. If your nearest place isn’t showing as open yet, it’s worth checking back regularly as things change every week.
“Bookings are now open for visits from Monday 6 July – Sunday 12 July.”
