A North Wales animal rescue centre is offering a ‘unique opportunity’ to rehome a large number of tropical fish, due to concerns about their welfare.

The RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Colwyn Bay is looking for a loving home to for the tropical fish, and are in the process of rehoming Guppies.

The Guppies vary in ages and sizes and need to go to a home with an understanding of keeping tropical fish species. The guppies have been separated into two tanks of male and female with the view for potential adopters rehoming a group from one or the other.

The fish ned to be rehomed into suitable tanks that can hold at least 6 guppies or preferably more. Under the RSPCA guidelines you should allow 2 litres of water per centimetre of fish so a 24 Liter tank would suit a group of 6 guppies and a 60 L would suit a group of 15. Tanks should be decorated with either live plants and wood or suitable artificial decoration.

The centre will require photographic evidence of an established tank with adequate filtration and a heater running between 22 and 27 degrees Celsius to ensure the fish are healthy and happy.

The RSPCA centre cares for over 100 animals at any one time, including cats, dogs, rats, rabbits and ferrets, while they wait for someone to offer them a loving home, to be a friend and look after them.
