A new mural has been painted in the home dressing room of Nantporth stadium, the home of Bangor 1876.

The Art foundation course at Coleg Menai has been in discussion with Bangor 1876 chairman Glynne Roberts, for a few months regarding several exciting art based projects around the Bangor area.

This is the first project to come to fruition, the re-painting of the home dressing room in Nantporth. Until this morning it still had a Bala Town mural from last year’s Welsh cup final on the Wall. This new mural should be complete by the next home game against Caersws on Saturday.

The mural was set as a group project to the Graphic design students on this year’s Art Foundation course in Coleg Menai. But students from all specialist areas have been involved in its painting.

Course leader Owein Prendergast, said: “We’ve had a great first day with the students putting in a very hard shift, we will be returning tomorrow to finish off.

“This project has given the students great experience of working for a client, particularly as there are so many parties involved in this case and there have been several alterations along the way. They will also be offered free tickets for the Caersws game.”
