A drive thru Costa coffee development site in Bangor has been put up for sale.
Plans were approved earlier this year for a third Costa in Bangor – one outlet is already located on the High Street, with another just meters away in Next.
Planning permission for a coffee shop with drive thru facility together with associated car parking, access, landscaping and associated works was approved in March 2022 , under application number C21/0750/25/LL.
The development site amounts to an area of c.0.2 hectares (0.5 acres) and is located on land to the rear of Harvey’s New York Bar & Grill, at Cyttir Lane, off Caernarfon Road.
The development will comprise a new single storey purpose-built detached unit with a drive-thru lane and customer parking, designed and delivered specifically to meet Costa Coffee corporate branding style and operational requirements. The associated parking provision is for 33 car parking spaces.
The site has a price of £425,000, with a lease agreement with Costa Ltd for £81,000 per annum over a 15-year term. The buyer will have to carry out shell construction prior to lease commencement.
There are fears this site will once again take trade away from Bangor’s much maligned High Street.
